Louis Garneau's Ergo Air 2s are feature-packed shoes at a friendly price. These sweet road slippers utilize numerous vents in the soles and breathable nylon-mesh/leather uppers for superior ventilation and comfort. You can even switch the insoles to moderate the amount of airflow into the shoes when it's cold. For maximum pedal power, there are stiff nylon soles and triple Velcro closures, which also provide a custom fit. Plus, rubber tabs on the toes and heels protect the shoes when you walk in them.
The perforated blue insole is for maximum airflow on hot days. The red one reduces airflow and is for cool days. The vents in the shoes draw air in to keep your feet dry and comfortable.
In order to mount your pedal cleats to your shoes, they must have matching bolt patterns (pedals come with cleats, shoes come without). There are three configurations (diagram) used on cycling shoes, SPD-R, Look/SPD-SL and SPD. Road shoes feature one, two or even all three of these. Mountain-bike shoes usually use the SPD pattern.
